Delicious

I played around with the delicious website. I created my own account and added the State Library website as a bookmark. However, I could not work out how to link the delicious entry to my blog.

I'm not sure I would personally use Delicious much but I can see how it would be a useful way to manage all of my favourite bookmarks. It also makes it easier to transfer bookmarks between browsers such as Internet Explorer and Firefox.

RSS

I created a bloglines account and subscribed to a few RSS feeds e.g. Rolling Stone, Coming Soon, Rotten Tomatoes, I-tunes top 50.

I can understand why RSS feeds would be handy for someone to keep up-to-date with numerous blog and websites and have access to up-to-date news headlines. However, I personally don't think I would use them much as I find it easier and quicker to just visit the websites when I want to.

Facebook

I've already created a facebook account. It is an OK way to communicate with friends and family. I do get annoyed when I receive invitations from people I haven't seen in 15 years or people I've never met before. I also don't like when you post a message on someone else's wall then everyone can read it. Apart from this, Facebook is an easy and effective way to communicate and network with friends and family.

Wikipedia links

I've created a link in Wikipedia. It was fairly easy to do. I added a link to the State Library's Becoming Queensland online exhibition on the History of Queensland wikipedia page. Hopefully, this will help promote the exhibition and encourage people to come into the library.

Photo sharing

I have completed the second activity - photo sharing. I have set up a flickr account and uploaded some photos there. I have also uploaded the same photos in my blog. It was quite easy doing this and it is a good way to share photos with friends and family.

War photo

Some relatives of mine during World War II in Italy.

My Italian relatives

Here are some photos of some of my relatives in Italy. I'm not sure who they were. I think one of them was my grandmother.
I like the cigarette that's being smoked and the whole European setting.
I'm going to Italy and Spain in September and I will look forward to experiencing the culture in person.
However, I'm not to keen on meeting any relatives that I have over there. If I wanted to do that I would visit my mum.
